Mount Airy Foundation Champions Mental Health Awareness with $15,000 in Community Donations

Regional gaming and hospitality leader hosts panel discussion and presents $5,000 grants to three Pocono area mental health organizations.

MOUNT POCONO, PA (September 1, 2026) — To mark the start of National Suicide Prevention Month, Mount Airy Casino Resort hosted “A Community Conversation on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention” today at the Mount Airy Golf Clubhouse. The event brought together regional business owners, community advocates, and healthcare leaders for an open panel discussion focused on breaking mental health stigmas and expanding local support networks.

To directly empower front-line support in the region, The Mount Airy Foundation presented $5,000 donations to each of the three participating non-profit organizations, totaling $15,000 in financial support for regional mental health initiatives.

The donation recipients include:

• American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) – Greater Northeast PA
• Carbon-Monroe-Pike Crisis Intervention Team Program
• Community Care Behavioral Health Organization

“Mental health awareness and crisis prevention affect every corner of our community, including our workforce, neighbors, and families,” said Brian Miller, Assistant General Manager at Mount Airy Casino Resort. “We are honored to kick off Suicide Prevention Month by bringing these critical organizations together under one roof. Providing these grants is just one way we can ensure our local partners have the resources they need to continue saving lives.”

The panel discussion focused on recognizing early signs of emotional distress in daily life and workplaces and navigating local crisis resources.

Attendees included human resources professionals and leaders from area business who participated in a live Q&A session aimed at driving actionable support across the business community.
