Mount Pocono, PA – Mount Airy Casino Resort, Pennsylvania’s first AAA Four-Diamond casino resort, helped spread some holiday cheer by helping to pay for the groceries of 20 lucky shoppers at the Mount Pocono ShopRite this morning.

Mount Airy’s ‘Santa Squad’ members popped up in the aisles and jumped out at the register, presenting $250 gift cards to surprised customers. A total of $5,000 in ShopRite gift cards were given away, providing a little extra jingle in the pockets of random shoppers.

“The holiday season is about joy and celebration. But we know it can also be a challenge for families faced with extra costs,” said Lisa DeNaples, Mount Airy owner and managing trustee. “That’s why we decided to make the season brighter and budgets lighter for our friends and neighbors. Giving back to our community has always been important at Mount Airy Casino Resort.”

Throughout the years, Mount Airy has donated more than a million dollars in cash grants, in-kind donations and community event sponsorships to charitable organizations that provide crucial services to the residents of Northeast Pennsylvania and the Poconos, including Meals on Wheels, The Salvation Army, The United Way and more.
