Two longtime staff members selected “Team Member of the Year” 

MOUNT POCONO, PA – Mount Airy Casino Resort, one of the largest private employers in Monroe County, rolled out the red carpet to honor employees who went above and beyond in 2023. At the casino resort’s annual Team Member of the Year recognition ceremony, more than 50 employees and their guests attended the cocktail hour and sit-down dinner held at the Mount Airy Event Center on March 27.

The event celebrated 22 Mount Airy employees who were nominated Team Member of the Month by department leadership and fellow co-workers for their outstanding contributions to the continued success of the Four Diamond casino and resort. Out of the 22 in the running, two employees were awarded Team Member of the Year accolades: Amjad Chaudhry, Stroudsburg, an attendant in the employee dining room who joined Mount Airy in 2017; and Kim Cocuzza, also from Stroudsburg, a bartender who was hired in 2018.

We gather tonight to show our appreciation for Mount Airy’s dedicated employees and to recognize those who have exceeded expectations,” said Lisa DeNaples, Mount Airy Casino Resort owner and managing trustee, in her welcoming remarks.As a company, we have always made it a point to make every project we undertake a success. You have all helped us achieve that vision by going the extra mile.”

The entire list of employees honored at the recognition dinner includes Lorraine Kastenbaum, Environmental Services (EVS) Public Area Attendant; Maribel Cardona, Accounts Payable Clerk; Michael McIntyre, IT Technician; Eugenio Bodden, Security Dispatcher; Kim Popke, Housekeeping Dispatcher; Eric Pereira, Buffet Beverage Server; Christian Micikas, Front Office Shift Manager; Chrislyn Saltos, Guest Room Attendant; Robert Klein, Slots Technician, Denis Ananiev, Banquet Supervisor; Renika Lonefield, Housekeeping Floor Inspector; Angela Passaretti, Front Desk Agent; Roselyn Jimenez, Buffet Cook; Allan Jiggetts, Buffet Cook; Kamen Dzhalev, Valet Attendant; Ronell Fleming, Count Team Associate; Syed Alam, Table Games Dealer; Angela Lafave, Valet Lead; and James Oravec, Table Games Dealer.

Mount Airy General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Ben Koff praised the hard work and dedication of the nominated staff members, and their essential role at the casino resort.
