MOUNT AIRY CASINO RESORT’S ‘SANTA SQUAD’ DELIVERS HOLIDAY CHEER ONE GROCERY CART AT A TIME

Mount Pocono, PA – Santa may prefer chimneys but Mount Airy Casino Resort chose checkout lanes to deliver a little holiday cheer Tuesday morning.

As part of its annual community giveaway, Mount Airy’s festive “Santa Squad” surprised shoppers at the Mount Pocono ShopRite by paying for their groceries, spreading smiles, laughter, and a little financial relief to make the season brighter.

Decked out in holiday spirit, Santa Squad members popped up in aisles and at registers, gifting 20 unsuspecting shoppers with $250 ShopRite gift cards, totaling $5,000.

“The holidays are meant to be joyful, but we also know they can stretch family budgets,” said Lisa DeNaples, Owner and Managing Trustee of Mount Airy Casino Resort. “We wanted to make the season a little brighter and a little lighter for our friends and neighbors.”

This holiday surprise is just one example of Mount Airy’s long-standing commitment to the community. Over the years, the resort has donated more than $1 million in cash grants, in-kind donations, and sponsorships to organizations serving Northeast Pennsylvania and the Poconos, including Meals on Wheels, The Salvation Army, The United Way, and many more.
