MOUNT POCONO, Pa., Feb. 15, 2012 – World Series of Poker winner Cyndy Violette will appear at Mount Airy Casino Resort on Saturday, Feb. 25, for a dedication ceremony to introduce the AAA Four Diamond resort’s brand new poker room.  Cyndy – one of the country’s most accomplished female poker greats – will also play against Mount Airy’s very own tournament finalists who will have the chance to go up against the poker legend in a championship round.

The expansive new poker room — located on the casino’s second floor and overlooking the resort’s scenic lake – features 11 tables and its very own bar and cash cage. The dedication ceremony begins at 1:45 p.m. followed by the tournament which runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Finalists from the day’s event – plus winners from Mount Airy’s January and February Friday Poker Tournaments — will then have the chance to play against the national poker champion who has over $1.2 million in live tournament earnings.

At 5:30 p.m., Cyndy will also appear at a meet and greet that will be open to the public, aged 21 and over.

“We are very excited to welcome one of poker’s most experienced and exciting players as we introduce a bigger and better poker room to our guests,” said Mount Airy Executive Vice President and General Manager John Culetsu. “Our customers asked and we listened when it came to expanding the poker room and we anticipate they will be very pleased with the results.”
One of poker’s more experienced players – and among the most avant-garde of the game — Cyndy mixes a great combination of affability, perceptiveness, experience and spirituality, as well as what she calls “good ol’ guts and daring.” All of these qualities make her one of the most popular and “in-demand” players on the tours today. She knows her cards, and has worked both sides of the table. A black jack dealer in Las Vegas during the 80’s, she feels her past experience helps her awareness and ability to read the other players at the table. Cyndy says that being a woman poker player is not an advantage or a disadvantage – she simply concentrates on being the best she can be.
Certainly one of the more spiritual players on the circuit, Cyndy spends much of her non-playing time working to improve her life and lifestyle. Cyndy is an avid reader — from Kabbalah and Feng Shui, to Self -Realization and Awareness studies – and she loves exploring the spiritual and metaphysical side of life. Positive thinking and visualization are very important to her game, she stresses. She also enjoys fashion and looks forward to getting more involved with her own line of poker and lifestyle-influenced clothing and accessories. She and her daughter split their time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
