Mount Airy Casino Resort Opens New Golf Clubhouse
Mount Pocono, PA – Mount Airy Casino Resort announces the ceremonial opening of its new Golf Clubhouse at the prestigious and historic Mount Airy Golf Club this Saturday, May 19th, beginning at 6 p.m.
Starting at 11 a.m., patrons can golf with the Miss Red Hot Girls who will be making a celebrity appearance at the resort in honor of the opening ceremony.
Situated across the lake from the landmark resort hotel and casino, the new, nearly $1 million clubhouse fronts the challenging first hole of the 18-hole golf course, while the rest of the course forms a dramatic background. The design of the clubhouse echoes the thematic Pocono historic aesthetics of the resort hotel.
Sheltering forms are defined by stone and siding, standing seam metal roofing and exposed wood trusses. The clubhouse contains a comfortable lounge focused on a fireplace, a dining room and bar, pro shop, locker room and shower facilities.
A spacious covered patio and open air dining can be accessed from the dining room and provides exceptional views of the lake, the golf course and the entire resort casino complex. The menu features traditional sandwiches and grilled items along with catered specialties such as grilled rib eye steaks, mesquite grilled chicken and barbecue ribs.
Originally designed by critically acclaimed golf course architect Hal C. Purdy in 1980, the course was renovated in 2009 to include a new irrigation system and new cart paths. The design of Mount Airy Casino Resort’s course is based on the 18 best holes in the United States as selected by Sports Illustrated in 1966.
