(December, 17, 2010) Mt. Pocono, PA — Elvis Aaron Presley was born to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two-room house in Tupelo, Mississippi, on January 8, 1935.

To celebrate what would have been the King’s 76th birthday, Mount Airy Casino Resort will welcome Broadway star Eddie Clendening and his Blue Ribbon Boys to Gypsies Nightclub and Lounge on Friday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m.

Tickets for the Elvis tribute are $12 in advance, $15 at the door and can be purchased by calling 1-866-468-7619 or by visiting mountairycasino.com.

A musician long before he became an actor, Clendening recently made his Broadway debut as Elvis Presley in Million Dollar Quartet, the smash-hit musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

An accomplished musician as well as an actor, Clendening has performed with the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Wanda Jackson, Dale Hawkins and Little Richard.  Along with his band, Eddie Clendening & The Blue Ribbon Boys, Clendening has been featured on and released several full-length albums, including 2010’s Eddie Clendening Is… Knockin’ At Your Heart.

Only 23-years-old, Eddie brings with him almost a decade of experience on the stage with early rock-n-roll greats like Scotty Moore, James Burton, Pat Cupp, Hayden Thompson, Billy Lee Riley and Jimmy Lee Fautheree. Contemporary period musicians are also taking notice of this explosive and handsome young front man. Eddie has toured with Deke Dickerson and was recently invited to sing at the Viva Las Vegas and Hemsby festivals with Go Cat Go, one the largest selling roots rock-n-roll groups.

But personality and looks isn’t just for the front man with this group, nor is the gift of musical ability. The Blue Ribbon Boys bring with them some very accomplished players in their own right and are quickly becoming respected as a solid, top-notch rhythm section: Chris Chew acoustic upright bass, Mark Millard drums, and Jeff Yeary rhythm guitar and powerful alternative vocals.

“We’re thrilled to welcome such gifted musicians to Gypsies Nightclub and Lounge,” said Mount Airy’s Executive Vice President and General Manager John Culetsu. “Just remember: You don’t have to be an Elvis fan to appreciate and enjoy this upcoming performance. We’re anticipating an extremely entertaining show.”
